Champions League Fixtures This Evening: Manchester City v Bayer Leverkusen & Additional Games

Previous Encounters
The only previous meeting involving Newcastle and Marseille was the Europa League semi-final of 2004, claimed by an emerging superstar from Ivory Coast. Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City have never met before. Chelsea and Barcelona have a notable history.
Initial Game Reports
Only a single goal in the first half of the two early games. Dahl's 6th-minute strike has earned Jose Mourinho’s Benfica a one-nil lead away to the Dutch side.
Newcastle’s Trip to Marseille
Even though Newcastle arrived in the French south coming off their confidence-boosting 2-1 home English top-flight victory against City on the weekend, and having defeated Union SG, Benfica and Athletic Bilbao in the European Cup, their only on the road victory since early April came in the Belgian capital at Union Saint-Gilloise.
Not that Howe was overly keen to discuss the mental side of this travel sickness. “The Champions League is distinct from domestic games,” said the manager, whose side are 6th in the European table, with 9 pts from a possible twelve and direct qualification to the knockout phase nearly secured. “I am not sure if you can compare them.”
A dedicated live feed is available for Chelsea v Barcelona. Murray, the minute-by-minute version of Maradona is on duty for that.
