The British player reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year due to a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.
