Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to appear in the new Hunger Games series instalment, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
News has broken that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Significant Reunion for Fans
The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their roles will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the original saga concluded with their characters living in peace.
This signifies the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind most of the previous films in the series.
The Plot and New Cast
The film's story are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.
The cast also includes several prominent actors in pivotal roles:
- Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.
