Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

American entertainer Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a announcement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.

His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
