Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
