Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books in total, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
