A Meteoric Rise Through The Academy

The midfielder is the latest to emerge from the famed youth system and is rapidly cementing himself as one of the manager's most exciting protegees.

He joined Real from CD Leganes in the summer of 2023, having formerly spent time at Atletico Madrid and Getafe academies, and initially featuring for the under-19 side, where he rapidly created a strong impression.

He progressed to the reserve side and it was in a pre-season game in which they played against the senior squad, then coached by the former defender, where the teenager is said to have caught the attention of the present manager, who took over from Xabi Alonso in the new year.

Reports would later describe the moment as "an instant connection," noting Pitarch stood out not only for his technical ability, but for the vitality, character and drive he brought to the team.

'His Best Attribute Is His Personality'

During the pre-season of 2025, ex-manager Xabi Alonso invited Pitarch to practice with the senior squad and gave him playing time in the warm-up matches.

Yet, it was Arbeloa's appointment that became the defining moment in his development as he came on as a late substitute in both ties against the Portuguese side that led to the clash with Pep Guardiola's team.

"I have dreamed of this every night before going to bed, the first day I began playing football, every day you go to train and every day you play a match," said Pitarch after his debut.

"I have just achieved my ambition with the best team in the planet and in the best competition."

"I realize fans might be surprised to watch him make his debut in a European fixture, but he's playing because I had total trust in him to perform his normal game.
